Swept away … we’ve expanded overnight!

Yesterday morning we had a fleet of 30 vehicles, including four specialist sweepers; by the evening we had welcomed a further five sweepers into our happy family.

It all started when we were approached some months ago by the owners of Roadmasters, a company offering road sweeping and cleaning services. Based at Signal Way in Swindon, Roadmasters was up for sale, allowing its ‘big sister’ company, Rockstone Surfacing, to concentrate on its core business.

The business is a great fit with PMG so our owners, Pat and Bernie McGuinness, signed on the dotted line and yesterday the transaction became official.

The purchase is a very positive one for PMG Services and will allow us to expand our sweeper hire further into Wiltshire. Our newest five sweepers currently serve construction companies in and around Swindon town and a wide area to the south including Wroughton, Royal Wotton Bassett and out towards Marlborough. We intend to widen this reach, attracting business east towards Reading and further south towards Salisbury.

Our expanded fleet will allow us to compete for local authority work as well as aiding construction companies: watch this space.

In the meantime, work will shortly begin to change the livery on these sweepers to the familiar PMG white and burgundy.
