Our story

We know waste management isn’t the flashiest job, but we take real pride in doing it right. That means safety, efficiency, and sustainability in everything we do.

1990

The beginning

Pat and Bernie McGuinness founded PMG as a mobile commercial vehicle repair company, marking the start of their entrepreneurial journey.

1996

Establishing a base

We purchased a site in St Phillips, Bristol. The old site was cleared to build a three-bay workshop and office, giving the company a permanent and professional operational base.

2001

The road sweeper revolution

We purchased its first road sweeper, marking its entry into the road sweeping sector. This decision led to consistent growth, with annual reinvestment in the fleet—now numbering around 60 vehicles.

2010

Strategic expansion

Services expanded into Swindon and Oxfordshire, strengthening PMG’s presence in Wiltshire and the wider South West. This move demonstrated our readiness to grow and serve a broader customer base.

2014

Zero to landfill begins

We launched its zero waste to landfill initiative, constructing a tipping and recycling facility at the Albert Road site. The facility enabled material recovery (e.g., sand, stone) from road and gully waste, reused in the construction industry.

2015

Building a full waste management solution

Over the next 5–7 years, we invested heavily in sustainable practices, positioning the company as an industry leader in waste recovery and recycling.

Our very own bespoke facility

We made our largest step yet by constructing our very own bespoke facility to house all of PMG under one roof! We are so proud to call Church Lane our new home.
